Nastiness

Swee has been milling around the house and I heard him grab the bowl of dried cereal I left out. When I went to see what he was doing he informed me that he had made his own breakfast. I told him good job thinking he had managed to pour some milk into said cereal. When congratulated about pouring milk he said it not milk it water. And he was eating it until just now when he ran into the bathroom to spit it out. I guess he won't be in charge of making me breakfast in bed anytime soon!

Basketball Has Come to a Close

As of last Saturday morning Jason's basketball season has come to a close. His team played in the Regional tournament and lost a hard fought battle. The team they lost too (Crawfordsville) ended up winning the Regional so they are on to Semi-State. It was very hard for our family to see it come to an end this year more than other years. I think the reason being that the kids had formed such neat relationships with the players this year. After every win the kids would accompany Jason into the locker room to congratulate the girls on their win. Priss would even sneak into the line up at the end of the game to tell the opposing team good game. Jason really had a nice group of girls who always spoke to the kids and wondered where they were if they didn't see them.

The Sports Reporter for the local paper captured the kids relationship with the team perfectly in this one picture....

Happy 64th Birthday!

This man is turning 64 today! We are so excited to celebrate your 64 years tomorrow at lunch. The kids got a kick out of singing to him over the phone this morning.

Happy Birthday to the man who always has been my protector come what may!

Fancy Nancy Day

Priss's kindergarten class were to dress up fancy in lue of Fancy Nancy Day. She selected a dress that Grandma and Grandpa Slopsema had gotten her for Christmas from American Girl. Priss had been eyeing this particular dress for almost a year. She was so excited that she woke up early so that we could do her hair and make sure that she had all the accessories on that she wanted. I asked her to pose and she willingly sat for pictures (not complaining at all)!

Sectional Champions

Jason's team won the Sectional Championship V-Day Eve. They were playing a team they had played twice before and had split the victories with. It was a tough game but they won! Jason rushed the stands to give me a hug and to gather up the kids to take down to the court for all the post-game celebrations. The kids were so excited to be giving the girls their pounds and Priss kept saying, "Daddy your season isn't over...you won!"

The kids even made it into the Batesville newspaper! I am trying to get the pictures from the newspaper.

V-Day Pictures

Here is a recap of our V-Day tradition of cookie baking and taking them in to Jason at work. However, this year he forgot we were coming so we sat in his room without for the majority of the time we were there. He felt really bad.

Also included are pictures from V-day morning when the kids opened there presents. Priss wasn't really excited about her gift...she got a movie (that she likes) but wanted a toy instead. Oh well!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Pictures are coming...I am having to charge my camera's batteries at the moment!

Hope you have a great day!

60s in February

The weather here has been awesome and the kids couldn't wait to go outside to play.

Yes, that is the kids' sled that Priss in pulling around the yard, I mean just 3 days ago we had enough snow to cover a small animal.

Overnight at Honey's

As I was talking with my Mom (aka Honey) she asked if she could come, get the kids and have them spend the night. I promptly said yes! The kids were so excited. It was Swee first time spending the night at Honey's without Mom and Dad there. Priss was just excited to be going.

I had to snap a picture to scrapbook about for Swee before they left.

Snow Day Several Days Late

Jason only had school on Monday last week and Priss only had school on Thursday of last week. It was a week full of family bonding and kids playing in the snow.

Jason enjoyed throwing the kids into the snow bank he'd made from shoveling off the drive and they kept coming back for more. I have to brag that our driveway was and still is the only completely cleaned off one in the neighborhood.

We are currently placing bets as to whether Jason has school in the morning or just has a delay! Any takers...I don't think the pay out is going to be that great!
