One Gone, Many More to Go

I made a promise to Priss that before she returned to school today that her loose tooth would be gone. Well, last night after bathtime I remembered my promise and reminded Priss. She allowed me to press on the tooth for a couple of minutes before she decided that she wanted to do it herself. She went into the bathroom and began fiddling with it. Blood began flowing but she continued on with trying to remove it. After a couple of twists this is what we had....

She was so excited that she ran out to the living room to show Swee and Jason. Thankfully she was agreeable to me taking several pictures of her mouth.

Priss, Daddy and I can't believe how old you seem now! Our little Prissy Girl is getting so big but is still our little Priss!

Gatlinburg Getaway

Since Spring Breaks at our house this year didn't coincide this year we got inventive so that we could have a break from the Indiana terrain. We came up with going to Gatlinburg for a long weekend. Picking Jason up from school early on Friday, driving to Knoxville, spending the night there, then driving to Gatlinburg on Saturday. We did some shopping at a great outlet in Seiverville and then took the kids to a Nascar race park since they were so good while we shopped. They had a great time playing at the raceway park. Priss even got to drive a go-kart all by herself. And Swee fell in love with a ride that took you up in the air and then dropped you.

Alot of swimming was done at the condo we stayed at and even some exploring by a creek. Everyone agreed that we should have stayed longer but Priss had school today and I have a parent/teacher conference to attend.

Birthday Boy!

The love of my life turned 31 today. Hard to believe that we have been celebrating birthdays together for the past 10 years. Where has the time gone!? For his birthday we ventured over to his parents since we hadn't been there since Christmas. He woke to cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then it was time for some birthday shopping. Priss wanted so badly to get him something for his birthday that she had picked out. Suggestions were given but not received well until she spotted the perfect gift (in her eyes). She gave her Daddy a "Buzz Lightyear kite". He was speechless and she was overjoyed with the gift she'd given. Had the weather cooperated some I am pretty sure she would have pestered him to go outside to fly it. Swee just kept saying "is that my present?" And when he was told "no" he then went on to say "oh it's Daddy's".

Happy Birthday to the man who we all completely adore!

Destroyer of Birthday Cake

I forgot to post this before the birthday party and just found the pictures so enjoy!

Since we were going to be out of town on Friday I decided Thursday would be the day to make the lasagna and cake for the party. I was making Pat's lasagna and my Great Aunts' Texas sheet cake. Priss was at school so it was just Swee and me. We began first with the cake. It was completed without error and was set to cool before I iced it. I continued on with the lasagna, having lost my helper. I completed assembling the lasagna and went to get the cake from the laundry room where it had been cooling when I realized that the cake was smelling very good. The reason it was smelling so good was because Swee had gotten a hold of it and scooped about a third of it out of the pan using a Downey cup. I was completely distraught over it until I received some great counsel...just serve it and explain that Swee assisted in creating a unique cake for his 3rd birthday. I did and this is what was left of the cake....

I managed to remove the destroyed portion and somewhat disguised it or so I thought. When I sat it out for the party and then told the story a few people said they thought we had already ate some of it.

Party Pictures People

Here are some pictures from Swee's party. The weather was so nice that we couldn't keep the kids indoors, and no I am not complaining about that!

Is He Really 3?!

Our little man turned 3 today! I can hardly believe that 3 years ago we were becoming parents to a little boy. He has made the last three years a complete adventure to say the least.

We celebrated this morning by singing Happy Birthday and he opened a few presents from the fam. Then it was time for Jason to go to work, and us the get ready for the day. When we got home from the craziness we called today Grandpa Pat was waiting for us. She had come down tonight for the party tomorrow. Jason got home, I ordered pizza, tried to tidy the house and baked the birthday brownies for our family celebration tonight. Swee could hardly wait to open his presents. He got a Lightening McQueen remote control car from Priss. They both drove it all over the house.

As I look at my Swee I am reminded of the tremendous blessing that we were given 3 years ago when he became a part of our family. There are days I wonder if I will make it through his current mischievous action but I wouldn't change his being who he is for anything in the world. Thanks for being our Swee!
