6-0

The Lady Bulldogs are now 6-0 for the season so far. On Friday they won their game by 22 points against Jac-Cen-Del but Jason thought it was an ugly win. It is hard for me to understand how a win by that large of a margin can be ugly but from Coach Slopsema it was!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! We celebrated with a Thanksgiving brunch at our house since Bon just had a baby on the 15th and really did want the tiny man around a lot of people. Following brunch we cleaned up and then headed out to Aunt Lana's for some turkey and fixings. We were in charge of taking the Oreo dessert. YUM YUM!

I can't wait until we go and pick out our Christmas tree!

David Slew Goliath Last Night

Jason's team (David) was set to play Connersville (Goliath) last night. Connersville has won every meeting over the past 3 years and last year they won by over 40 points. We were optimistic going into the game but were really just hoping for minimal bloodshed with us losing the blood. The first quarter they lead by about 5 points. The second quarter we came on strong and got out of the half down just 4 points. From there on out we were able to take the lead and maintain at least a one point lead for most of the third and fourth quarters. As the clock ticked down I was unable to sit because it seemed as though we were going to be able to pull out a win. Knowing how much Jason wanted to win this game - the illusive white unicorn - I was a madwoman in the stands cheering. The kids were told to sit still and not more over the course of the last 2 minutes and 37 seconds. We were up 4 points when the clock was down to 7.9 seconds, Connersville's star player was passed the ball and she shot....as soon as it left her hands I knew it was off and she had only shot a 2 pointer. We rebounded and WON! We WON 41 to 37! I wish someone would have had a camera to catch Jason's game ending jump into the rafters. The kids rushed to the locker room with me in tow to give the players their congratulatory pounds.

Way to go Batesville Lady Bulldogs! They are now 5-0, continuing the best start in Jason's coaching career since they always meet Goliath before Thanksgiving each year!

56 - 46

Last night's game was a nail biter for the first 29 minutes until we took the lead. I continued to nibble on my nails up until the final buzzer sounded. We didn't lead or tie N. Decatur until the second half. It was a very physical game and Jason had two players with 4 fouls each by the third quarter. WE both were relieved that his team went to 3-0 last evening. Now if they only can pull of another win tomorrow night.

Go Bulldogs!

My Lunch

Yesterday during lunch I had to leave my food while it was still cooking. Swee was in need of some immediate attention. That being said I asked Priss to unplug my food for me. A couple of minutes later she came to tell me that she had gotten my lunch ready just like I liked it. I was rather intrigued to see what my lunch actually looked like. This is what I found....

I so like both butter and syrup in my waffle but not even close to this quantity, Jason would disagree. Thanks for helping me Priss. When she wasn't looking it did get trashed!

Another Nephew

Saturday, Nov. 15, we welcomed a new nephew and cousin into the family. Baby Grady was born and the kids couldn't wait to go and see him. They didn't get to see him until Sunday because as we were driving to the hospital on Saturday he began having some labored breathing so they took him to NICU for some observation.

Priss didn't want to allow anyone else to hold Grady once she got her hands on him. Between her and Coop (the older brother) there wasn't much time for anyone else to snuggle him. Swee did squeeze in a couple of kisses and soft hugs before it was time for him to eat.

I had forgotten how tiny babies are at birth. He is beautiful and is such a great combination of his older siblings.

Welcome to the family baby Grady!

The Bulldogs defeated the Lawrenceburg Tigers tonight with a score of 68 to 32. They seem to be off to a great start. Keep it up ladies!

Bulldog Mania

Last night kicked off the 2008 Batesville Girls' Basketball season and thankful it was accompanied by a win. The Bulldogs won 76 to 40. The kids enjoyed the game and Priss on a couple of occasions was spotted in the team huddle, by mistake. Overall a fun night was had and the season is off to a positive start.

Way to go Babe!

Halloween with No PICTURES

Yes, I completely forgot to take my camera with me when the kids and I went to Batesville today. Jason was playing in a staff vs. students Red Ribbon Week basketball game so we left early to go and support him.

The kids loved Trick or Treating this year. It was a dead sprint between them as to who would get to each door first. What a change from last year! Swee simply would stand at the doorstep and Priss would say Trick or Treat and then Thanks from me and my brother. This year Swee ran to each doorstep and then stood there frozen in place when other kids came up. Priss couldn't wait to get to the next house. In fact, they could spot the next doorstep lite from 3-4 houses away.

I hate that I didn't get any pictures taken but that is life sometimes!
