Loose Tooth in the House

Priss officially is the proud (understatement) owner of a LOOSE TOOTH. She informed me this morning that she thought her bagel had given her a loose tooth. I inspected said loose tooth and verified it. She has been so down lately because (she claims) everyone in her class at school has a loose tooth or had already lost one. Now she is in the coveted LOOSE TOOTH CLUB.

Pictures to come later when it is actually lost!

Bulldog Update

I can't remember the last time I blogged about Jason's team so here goes...they are officially 16-1 the best season record for the girls in who knows how long. They just recently beat their arch rival that just happens to be the high school in the town we live. Jason was so excited that at the end of the game he was throwing Priss in the air. She always manages to get in on the action at the end of the games. I don't trust Swee enough to let him go down with her as the game winds down. The Bulldogs have 3 more season games and then it is sectional time. The sectional draw is this Thursday so we will be watching it with baited breath I am sure.

Doing the Dishes

As I was in another part of the house I overheard the water running in the kitchen. I found Swee standing on a chair at the kitchen sink. When he saw me he informed me he was washing the dishes for me.
How could I get upset when he was doing service for me? I didn't, I just simply grabbed the camera and began filming him.

Super Heroes Slopsema Style

The kids wanted to be Super Heroes one day last week! I appreciate so much the imagination of a child!

WE are the CHAMPIONS

The Lady Bulldogs basketball team won the Ripley County Tourney quite easily last Friday night. They managed to keep the opposing team scoreless in the first quarter if memory serves me correctly. The neat thing about this group of girls winning was that when Jason coached JV they were just freshman and now the majority of the team are seniors.

The kids loved getting to sit on the bench during the last minute and a half and then waited somewhat patiently while the team cut the net down. Jason made sure each of them got a piece of the net. Priss still has hers from when he coach JV and they won the JV tourney.

Their record is now 12-1 and they are in contention for the conference title as long as they win the remainder of their games against conference teams.

Snow Day 2009

I had promised the kids that if there was still snow today that we could go out and play in it. They ate breakfast and then as quickly as we could we got our snow clothes on and were out the door.

Priss loved playing in the snow, trying to make a snow-woman and seeing how much snow the sled would hold. Swee on the other hand enjoyed it until his third or fourth face plant and then he was done.

As I child I loved snowy days that you could play outside in and now as an adult I find them just as enjoyable maybe more so since I now get to experience them with my children.

Playing for the RCT Championship

Jason's team won their game on Tuesday night by a large point margin. The kids and I were unable to attend since on Sunday I was diagnosed with strep. I haven't had it in over 11 years. I think the last time I had it I had just gotten home from my college roommate's, Heidi's, wedding. Anyway back to the game. He is very excited to be playing for the championship. His very first year at Batesville when he was coaching the jv they won it and now those girls are senior so it would be a very nice ending to their high school basketball careers.

We will be in attendance on Friday with his parents who are coming down to go. His dad has never watched him coach a winning game and just this year has his mom, she has gotten to see him win 2 or 3 already this year.
