Lovin on the Lil Man

I think I could kiss this kid's face off given the chance to try. Just a little mooching of cheeks session captured on camera.

Snuggling with Daddy

Due to the weather we have had this last week Priss had a delay and Jason's school closed. Because of this the kids got to have some snuggle time with him.

Still Nappin'

Almost 4 and still napping daily. Yesterday and today he took a 3 hour nap. I don't know what he will do when he begins school this fall. I guess we will just have to make sure that he has time each day to rest.

Gone 36 Hours

and I came home to this...

I had been informed of it via a phone call earlier in the day but still that doesn't quite prepare you to come home to a bald husband.

The story behind the no guard buzz cut is this... Jason told his varsity basketball team that if they beat a HUGE rival that they could shave his head. The team won, as you can see, in overtime by 2 points. A player told me that Coach Slop was so excited about the win until a few girls pointed to his head and reminded him of the deal they had made. When they returned to school the shaving began. The three seniors were the ones allowed to shave his head. One began but couldn't continue and another took over and finished the job. He had the visual media guy film it so that the kids and I could watch. The players were taking pictures and fast as they could and it is rumored to already be on Facebook yesterday afternoon.

What was the kids' reaction you ask? Priss cried and Swee kept asking him to put his hair back on, and wanted to make sure that he didn't have to have his hair cut like Daddy's.

It is hair and will grow back but now I know how Jason felt the day I showed up at his work with coal black hair (I had been a blond that morning).

Great Visit

Erica and Grady came back home for a very quick visit this past weekend. The kids and I drove up to my Mom's on Friday after we picked Priss up from school. The visit was great, but too short. We talked about how one vital part of us was missing...Valeri. Mom, Erica and I stayed up too late talking but it brought back lots of memories of when we have all been together and time just slips away. Friday night the kids, Erica, Grady and I met my Dad at Applebee's for dinner. It reminded me of all the times we ate there growing up. Great memories, with great people. Bon, I am so glad Matty surprised you with your ticket. Can't wait for all of us to be together. Sooner than later.

Memory Lane

My kids were treated to this yesterday morning for breakfast. I loved these growing up. Cinnamon sugar or chocolate iced (chocolate icing from the Texas sheet cake made on birthdays). They fell in love with them. Healthy they are not but they are so good.

Cooing and Giggling

Lil Man thinks everything is so funny right now!

I am a Sunbeam

Sunday was Swee's first day in Primary at church in the Sunbeam class. He was so excited to be in Primary with Priss. He carried his scriptures to church and participated in Sharing Time. It is so hard to believe that he is old enough to be in the Sunbeam class. His teacher is Sis. Phaneuf who used to be Priss's Primary teacher last year.

Lil Man Stats

As of Monday Lil Man was weighing in at 16 lbs 6.5 oz and was measuring 24.5 in long. He got his three shots like a trooper and was sound asleep before we even left the office.

Christmas at Winthrop

This year we celebrated Christmas with my Mom and John. The kids were taken back a little when it was so quiet and lacking chaos as they opened their gifts. This was the first Christmas that just my little family was there. NO niece, NO nephews, NO sisters, and NO brother in laws. Jason and I talked that it was so strange. Mom and I cried that it was so different and foreign to us. We didn't like it at all and we all better be together next year.

Christmas with Grandpa David

We stopped by my cousin Kimberly's house to see all the family on the Myers side and to deliver my dad's gifts from my sisters. The kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins and I enjoyed visiting with my Dad, aunts, uncles and cousins. I really love the fact that they always make you feel welcome no matter how long it has been since we saw each other last.

3:40 a.m.

The time that Priss woke her Uncle B up Christmas morning. I knew the year would come that we would be up before our bodies were intended to get up and this just so happened to be that year. Brian did manage to keep her at bay until 20 til 5 but still way too early. She was allowed to go ahead and open her stocking while B and I watched. Not too long after she finished Swee peeked his head out and came running to see if Santa had there. He too was very excited! Jason's parents said that he had woke them up wanting to look out the window for Santa. By 7 a.m. we were finished opening gifts except for Lil Man who slept until 8:15 a.m. We just took a moment to imagine if he was our only child we would have gotten to sleep until then. Oh well, sleep is overrated!
