back to school, pedaling a bike, 3 months old, 22ft

School started this past Tuesday in our neck of the woods.  Swee loves his teacher and is doing great in his behavior choices.  Priss is learning to like her teacher and class.  She is the only girl from her class last year in this year's class.  What a 1st and 4th grade year we are having so far.
He has mastered pedaling a bicycle now.  Doodle wants to ride his bike whenever we go on a walk these days.

Qbee is officially 3 months old.  She is a smiley, giggly, chub rolls upon rolls, true blessing to our family.  If she wouldn't smile so easily she would probably be left alone more often but she does smile and weathers the attention so well.
On Friday I noticed a branch hanging from one of the trees in our front yard.  I asked a neighbor to come a check the branch out to make sure it wasn't going to be falling really soon.  He said it was okay and so I just mentioned it to Jason when we got home.  Saturday morning he went out and pulled on it and it came down, all 22 feet of it.  It would have severely injured one of the kids had it fallen when they were playing on the driveway.  Doodle loved using his saw to "help" cut it into manageable pieces.  There still is a broken branch suspended in the tree but it is really stuck up high and wedged really well across several other branches.

she had a birthday!

Our beautiful Priss turned nine already this month.  Along with celebrating earlier in the month with family, she also celebrated yesterday with some friends.  Eight 9-10 year old girls was a test of Q's sound sleeping.  Priss completely enjoyed herself and getting to have so many friends over.

all good things must come to an end...

so that great things can begin.   what is ending you ask?  summer vacation! it ended about two weeks ago for Jason but today it ends for priss and swee.  last night before bed i was talking with the older two about their summers and what they felt was the best part of summer vacation.  hands down it was getting to see family that lives so far away.  they loved playing with cousins, and having aunts and uncles around.
they have mixed emotions about tomorrow.  neither one of them knows a single person who is going to be in their class or even the teacher for that matter.  they are excited to go to meet the teacher tonight to see if there are any familiar faces in their classes.
i am going to miss seeing the three older kids playing together during the day or even i am sure hearing them arguing about who's in charge.
the summer was wonderful and i am going to miss my time with my children.  this summer gave us the chance to spend time getting to know our newest member of the family...quinnzer bee.  maybe that is why this end of summer is so much harder...i see just how fast my kids are growing up, especially as i look at our little bee.  she has changed so much since we brought her home.  i just keep singing the song with the phrase...let them be little...or your going to miss this.  i will miss this time in my life and theirs too.  i already do!

random thoughts and pictures

she is getting chubbier by the minute it seems.  just bigger and softer cheeks to smooch.
swee found an old cell phone that he has figured out how to make it ring and how to take pictures. she was the subject of the moment while she did tummy time.
all four engrossed in a little disney cartoon action one morning
jason's parents rented a 26 foot long truck to bring us furniture and to take the lawnmower they purchased on ebay home to nc.
our lovely ladies mugging for the camera...a daily occurrence around our parts.

you have to appreciate the self photo of the two of us...what i hate about being the one who always takes pictures is asking someone, who i live with, to take picture of me with one of the kids.  so this is what i resort to.

we are all doing great.  hating to see the summer vacay disappear so quickly but also looking forward to the school year.  the school year has already held big changes for our family and will continue to do so i am sure.   9 days and the older two will be back to school leaving me and the youngest 2 to fend for ourselves.  i am pretty certain we will manage.
