Harnessing his Inner Maori

I walked out of the kitchen with him coloring and returned to find him with black marker on his face. I was certain it was done by a sharpie I found close by but thankfully it was from a washable marker! What is it with my boys, their faces and black markers? I even hid them or at least thought I had hidden all of them.

3 in 2 weeks

He lost the first of 3 teeth while I was at the hospital with my dad following his hip replacement surgery.

A few days later, 3 to be in fact, he lost another one.

This tooth has quite the story behind it....when he was four he had dental surgery to fix six teeth. Two of them required root canals. These teeth started to get loose last summer so we returned to the dentist to find out if the caps were loose or the teeth. We found out it was the teeth. So we were told that he would loose both over the next couple of months. Well, he lost the first in August and now last week he lost the second. He now has only his one year molars and is six year molars. The others we wasn't supposed to loose for another 6 YEARS! When he lost the second tooth last week he asked the tooth fairy for a ds instead of money. Can't blame him for trying!

Basketball Season

There is a basketball player living in our house and she loves it! She has waited years to be able to play on a team like Jason coached. Her team is in second place and doing very well.

This particular game she was fouled while shooting made both of her free throws and was so excited! It is so much fun to watch her play basketball and to hear her and Jason talk strategy on the way home. The downside of her season is that she plays Saturday nights when Jason is having to supervise BRV games. So he has missed several of her games and has had to hear about them second-hand.

Christmas and New Years

We had a very blessed holiday season this year. Family and friends surrounded us at every turn and it was delightful. Jason and I celebrated our 10th anniversary with a night away at the new JW and a breathtaking view from the 33rd floor. It was awesome being treated like royalty thanks to Papa Ed's Marriott connections.

We hope yours was as wonderful as ours.
