At least for Priss it is...Jason had to go back in today due to missing yesterday for a job interview! I think she has a great day. She had written a note to every classmate and was allowed to delivery them yesterday along with her gift for her teacher.
The kids had a surprise yesterday afternoon..Uncle B came down for a visit since he was in for the race last weekend. Both Swee and Priss were so excited to see him. The last time we saw him it was at Christmas. Anyhow, he went with us to pick Priss up from school. Swee and him went up to sign her out and she was full of smiles when they got back to the car. Earlier in the week when he called to say he wanted to come for a visit Jason and I decided to leave it a secret in case he had to leave early for work. The kids were pretty disappointed when we fibbed to them that he had to leave on work and wouldn't be coming for a visit.
To celebrate the end of school we had an End of School Party. Priss planned it! She wanted a chocolate cake with white icing, pizza, plates, napkins, signs, everyone was to wear good clothes and it was to begin at 5:30. A list was even created to make sure that all the required items were accounted for. Uncle B joined us in the party and Priss even came up with a song to sing...Happy end of first grade to you, happy end of first grade to you, happy end of first grade dear Priss, happy end of first grade to you! It was so fun much and the kids loved every minute of it that I think we just created a new Slopsema Tradition. For the time being it will just involve us but I know the time will come when we will venture out to invite others!
