Weed and Morgan made it safely to Indiana yesterday and we have a wonderful time with them. We all went out to eat in Greenwood and then they left with Mom and the three oldest grandkids. The oldest grandkids spent the night with them so that they would have some special time with Uncle Morgan and Aunt Valeri.
It was so great to see them and Miss Penny! Emerson had a great time with them last night and Sawyer totally loved the attention they were passing out. Sawyer loved Penny and Emerson was warming up to her. Maybe one day Emerson will be over her fear of animals, but then I will probably then have to deal with her constantly asking for a pet. Which is worse? I am not sure I have made a decision on that question.
Glad to have the three of you home, just too short of a time!

Spanning Several Weekends
I would be ungrateful if I failed to mention all the time that Jason's parents spent at our home helping us install new flooring throughout the kitchen, living room and hallway between the kids' rooms. We had been wanting to take the carpet out of all rooms in our house except for the bedrooms and we decided to begin this task as Jason's Spring Break came to an end.
We removed the carpeting with the help of the cutest assistants ever. Sawyer and Emerson got so into ripping the carpet and pad up that we had to beg them to stop so we would still have it in the bedrooms. I captured them in some really cute shots.
The remodeling took over 4 weekends to truly get it completed. It looks beautiful and I am so glad that it is OVER! I am not the best about having my kitchen torn apart and have to cook in it. I guess and big kitchen remodel is not in our near future or at least I hope not.
Thank you so much Ed and Pat for putting your lives on hold so that we could complete a home improvement project. I know it won't be the last one that we need help with. Lots of love and appreciation!

Weedie is 26
It is so hard to believe that my little Weedie is 26 today. I remember when Dad, Erica and I went to the hospital to get her and Mom. I was allowed to hold her on the way home, since there weren't any car seat laws. I couldn't imagine allowing Emerson to hold a newborn baby in the car today! Scary!
Happy Birthday to My Littlest Sis! We love you sooooo much!

Not Expected
Yesterday I went to the OB for a follow up appointment since when I went last week they were unable to get a heartbeat. I returned yesterday to have the heartbeat checked. Needless to say, no heartbeat was found and I was informed that an miscarriage had occurred. It was not expected news, of course, but as I drove home it made me think of all the wonderful blessings that the Lord has given me, and that he truly knew what was best for the baby.
Late yesterday evening Emerson got to talking about a dream she had had about the baby. It was so hard to tell her that the baby would not be coming to live with us but that Heavenly Father had needed it back. We explained that the baby would have been really sick and Heavenly Father didn't want it to be sick. She quickly replied, "But Mom it did get sick." Emerson really struggled with understanding why Heavenly Father would take our baby away from us. At family prayer she prayed that he would give us another baby soon. The innocence of little children is beautiful to behold.

Happy Easter
Just a quick note to say
Happy Easter!
We are so grateful for our Savior and our relationship with him, and the ones that the kids are developing!

Jason Caught UP
Jason loves saying that he is married to an older woman but he now has to admit that we are the same age. I had planned a surprise party for Jason's 30th but as the week leading up to it approached the surprise was altered. Both of our lovely mothers decided to make comments about seeing him that weekend, on Friday to be exact. I had been telling him that we weren't doing anything on his actual birthday but would be getting together with the fam on Saturday. Also when he called during the day on his birthday Emerson proceeded to say, guess who is coming over tonight...your parents, Cooper, Ainsley & Beckett. Surprise all but blown!
He got home finally and the kids jumped out yelling surprise!! Jason later admitted that we thought we were going to Chuck E. Cheese for this b-day celebration. Instead we ate some pizza and then Jason opened gifts. After all the presents and most of the Costco chocolate cake was eaten we headed out to do some bowling. Erica held her own again most of the men and I managed to beat a couple of the guys. Jason's Dad was the winner but I don't think 150 points were even achieved. I think for awhile everyone thought we were playing GOLF!
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Birthday/Blizzard Party Day
We celebrated Sawyer's second birthday on Saturday, March 8th, in the midst of blizzard like conditions. Due to the conditions outside some people were unable to make it and we missed them alot. For those who did we feasted on homemade lasagna, french bread, salad and the best chocolate sheet cake ever. The lasagna recipe was from Jason's mom and the cake recipe was from my great-aunties.
After pigging out on the delicious food Sawyer opened his presents. He received some really fun ones...a tank from Uncle Brian, a Little People dinosaur set from the Wall fam, some cute clothes, $, and a baseball mitt from Dad, Emerson and me.
When the party was over we were so glad that our families are so close and that they were able to share in Sawyer's special day! To all those who couldn't make it we missed you but were relieved to know that you were safe at home.

731 Days
It is so crazy to think that Sawyer is that many days old (731). The past 2 years have completely flown by. He is such a little, mischievous, loving, rowdie little boy who has changed the dynamics of our family so much. He adores Emerson and loves to wrestle with Jason, and forever will be my little snuggler.
For his birthday we did our 2 year professional picture and then met up with my Mom, Emerson, Erica & her kids to go to the Indy Children's Museum. The kids loved the Curious George and the dinosaurs exhibits.
Once we got home we had our traditional brownie sundaes and sang Happy Birthday. Sawyer loved getting to blow out his candles and then Emerson gave him his present from her. She had picked out a backpack and some underwear. When we put the underwear on Sawyer thought that they felt a little weird, but a couple of moments later they were a little wet. He just looked around like what is everyone going to do now! I guess potty training is still a few days away!:)
Happy 2nd Birthday to my Sweet Teeny Man (SWEE)!
